Description
From baby to big kid the Continuum 3-in-1 car seat is there for your family through three different stages from 5-80 pounds.

This adaptable car seat can be used in the rear-facing position from 5-40 pounds, and includes a comfy grow-with-baby pillow to give a smaller baby a snug fit. The pillow easily removes when no longer needed. Once in forward-facing mode, the Continuum keeps your child safer in the harness up to 50 pounds. When your child is ready to transition to vehicle seat belts, simply remove the harness to use the Continuum 3-in-1 Car Seat in belt-positioning booster mode all the way up to 80 pounds.

In both rear-facing and forward-facing mode, harness holders keep the harness in an open position. This makes it easier for you to get your child in and out of the car seat. No more fishing for the harness and clips from behind your child ? they’re right there when you need them. The QuickFit? Harness offers additional convenience in both of these stages by letting you adjust the height of both the headrest and harness in one quick and easy step, making it simple to give your growing child the best fit. In booster mode, the headrest still adjusts easily on its own so that you can continue to get the best fit for your child.

The Continuum is simple to clean with a machine washable and dryer safe cover that removes easily from the seat. The pad attaches to the seat with snaps so there’s no need to remove the harness or disassemble the car seat. Just unsnap and lift the pad away to put it in the machine. The cup holder is also designed to be easy to clean. Just twist it out and put it into the dishwasher to get rid of the goopy buildup that ends up in every kid’s cup holder.

The Continuum is designed to provide more comfort to you and your other adult passengers too. It takes up less room when placed rear-facing, giving up to 7 inches more leg room for grownups in the front seat.

  • 1 removable, dishwasher-safe cup holder
  • Machine washable and dryer safe seat pad, removes with no fuss for truly easy cleaning
  • Side Impact Protection built right into the seat for better protection around baby’s head
  • 3-position recline makes it easy to get a good fit in your car
  • QuickFit? Harness for easy adjustment of both harness and headrest in one simple step
Specifications:
  • Child age/weight: 5-80 lbs

Not for us.
August 30, 2022
My fiancé has a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500. We purchased this car seat specifically for his truck. Unfortunately no matter how you try to install it when rear facing it does not work. We even had a certified car seat tech attempt to install it as well and still had no luck after 3 hours. Even after putting my full body weight (145lbs)in the seat and tightening the seatbelt it is still too loose and ends not passing the "1 inch moving test". The whole carseat tips over. We are very disappointed. Unfortunately we threw out the packaging and are unable to return it or we would have. So for now the carseat is just taking up space in our garage.

Difficult to get seat tight enough in the car with latches. I can't pull it tight enough for it to be comfortably safe. My husband can't even do it! Also tightening the child in is a task! For us we had to pull on the strap from the back of the seat and then pull on the lap belt to be able to get it to tighten. On a side nope I did order a replacement through warranty so I'm hoping this one will work properly!

At first it was easy and it was great then as my son got older it was harder to keep it properly installed. Every turn we made my sons seat would turn fully to the side like it was never strapped in. I tried to continuously fix it but it didnt work. I also have another one of your seats that does the same

Dont recommend
April 17, 2019
This carseat is nearly impossible to fit in any car. Even in my jeep, we cant put this behind the driver seat or else my husband cant fit in his seat. It flipped over every single time we made the slightest turn and no matter what we did, it was consistently at the wrong angle. I shouldn't have to put towels under or near it to make it fit properly. Also the straps, god, they get stuck EVERY. SINGLE. TIME on what? I couldn't tell you. It's cheap and that's the only good thing about it.

Not too happy
January 30, 2019
I like the fact that its 3 in 1 but it's a little difficult to install to get it right enough that it doesn't move. The seat is reclined all the way but my babies head still falls to the side when he falls asleep wish it would have a little more support on the head area. The instruction book says "put a noodle or a towel to get desired recline position". I feel like it's a little difficult to move the head rest at times. The latch to recline is difficult to get in to when its rear facing

I purchased this and tried by son it in the store but one I got it in the car he just doesn't seem comfortable. The straps never seem to properly adjust, and I'm overall disappointed with my purchase and looking for a new option. The pro is its lightweight.

Great carseat!
March 8, 2018
The seat is very easy to install. The latch system is easy to clip and adjust but also very secure. It's sturdy but still lightweight. It's easily cleaned, the cup holder detaches to make it easy to clean out too. I like how the headrest and straps are easy to adjust, as quickly as kids grow it's so much easier to twist the little tabs at the top and lift the headrest vs. the older seats where you have to rethread the straps as baby grows. We wanted seats that would really last and we'd get a lot of use out of and we got just that with these carseats! We have crazy, rough twin boys and so far the seats have held up very well! A 3 in 1 carseat that can bring your baby home from the hospital AND still last them to the age of booster seats is a smart investment! Couldn't be happier with our seats!

Experiencing Loose Straps for Infant Use?
October 19, 2017
Complaints of inability to tighten loose straps for infant use easily solved...once installer realizes there are two sewn slits on each strap and the need to use the "upper" slits vs. the end ones!

Instructions regarding the above should be prominently highlighted. It would have saved me hours of wasted effort trying to figure out why the straps would not tighten enough for safe use on my 12 lb. grandson.

Also, headrest height adjustment is cumbersome and difficult to change.

Love this carseat for the price!
February 6, 2017
Best car seat around for the price. Easy to install in both large and small vehicles. Reclines far enough that my son can sleep comfortably but can still look around when awake. Recently we were in an accident and he was so secure in his seat that hendisnt even wake up (18 months old). Love it!

A+ Carseat
August 29, 2016
I got this carseat because it was described as smaller and less bulky as easy to clean. The directions on how to remove the cover are a little daunting. I haven't tried it yet. I'm using it for my 17 month old rear facing daughter. She seems to like it and find it comfortable. Very light and easy to install.

This is a great car seat and works great for toodling around
March 4, 2016
This is a great car seat and works great for toodling around town with my niece. It secures into the car well and is pretty easy to adjust to fit the child. The material is easy wipeable, making spills easy to clean up. I love that it has a cup holder and that it can be used several different ways as she grows.

I absolutely LOVE the harness hooks...
March 4, 2016
This Safety 1st Continuum 3-in-1 Car Seat is just that. It serves babies from 5 to 80 lbs so there is no need to buy 3 different products as your child/grand child grows. I absolutely LOVE the harness hooks that keep that you can hook the harness to while taking baby in and out of seat. This keeps you from having to dig them out from behind the child after you put them in. YAY. The head rest slides up and along with it comes the harness so as your child grows you don't have to re-thread the harness thru another hole as their shoulders get higher in the seat. The snack or cup holder is a great handy addition too.

Great seat.
March 4, 2016
This seat is fairly easy to install -- similar to other seats on the market. It took me about 10 minutes to put it in the van and the directions were pretty clear. I love that it has the little button for adjusting straps. The infant seat were were using you had to get up underneath, pull out, rethread, etc to adjust the straps and it was troublesome with a quickly growing little one. This one is a cinch to adjust. It seems very well padded. I just put my 6 month old (15 pounds) it and she seems to be comfortable. It's easy to get her in and out and I love the cupholder. The older kids are jealous! :) I also like that it goes up to 80 pounds and quickly switch to front facing.

March 4, 2016
Very roomy carseat. When I took it out of the box there was a loose spring hanging out. We found where it went. Seat functions well. My little boy doesn't complain while sitting in it. Husband installed very quickly. Seems to have great cushioning and stability. Would buy again.

So Far So Good
March 4, 2016
I like the car seat, it is nice the padding is soft, the seat itself seems durable. I keep this one in my car for my grandson. And I am glad that I saw one of the reviews before that mentioned the type of car they have. I have an 03 Nissan Altima. I didn't have any problem adjusting it in my car. I believe the older the child is the better the seat works. also think the cupholder (which can be removed and is dishwasher safe!) is a cute addition. Now whether or not the bottle stays in there has nothing to do with Safety First!

I haven't purchased a car seat in years myself, but I think the price is reasonable. Will keep you updated as we ride along.

Easy to clean is a definite plus
March 4, 2016
It sounds insignificant, but one of my favorite things about this carseat is the removable (and washable) cup holder. Any parent knows how nasty those cup holders can get when something leaks or a snack get crushed in the bottom of the cup. This one is super easy to twist and remove (which certainly beats trying to clean out a non-removable cup holder).

Another definite perk is the ability to remove the cover and wash it in the washing machine. I've unfortunately had kids get sick in the car on more than one occasion, there is nothing worse than trying to get vomit out of a non-removable/washable carseat cover.

I had no trouble installing the car seat or adjusting the harness to fit my 19 month old. I like knowing that I can keep him rear-facing for quite a while longer, and then still be able to use the car seat for both forward facing harness and booster/seat-belt use when he gets older.

While it's not an exceptionally plush or beautiful seat, I think it has been comfortable for my child. Adjustments have been a breeze and it fits nicely in my minivan's middle row captain's chair. I don't really use the harness holders, but I suppose the could be useful if you get frustrated with the straps falling behind the child when placing them in the seat. I don't really have an issue with that, so I usually just save myself the step and buckle them in.

Hopefully, we'll be able to use this seat with my son for the next couple years as he grows into the different car seat stages.

A Great Investment For Parents With Young Ones.
March 4, 2016
This is in my opinion one of the safest and versatile 3 in 1 car seats that I've ever used. It appears to be comfortable after using it to transport my 18 month old nephew. His mother and I unboxed it and closely inspected it as we reviewed the easy to understand and read directions for installation. I do like durability and stability of the frame and can tell it was designed for comfort, ease of use and safety to transport the most precious person in a parent's life.

The versatility of using it for years and having a company that was build upon children's safety design and stand behind this is well worth the piece of mind knowing I have the one of best car seats sold. The 3 in 1 is designed to grow with your child. "From baby to big kid the Continuum 3-in-1 car seat is there for your family through three different stages from 5-80 pounds. When your child is ready to transition to vehicle seat belts, simply remove the harness to use the Continuum 3-in-1 Car Seat in belt-positioning booster mode all the way up to 80 pounds."

I recommend this seat and have referred it to others as one of the best designed car seats built today.
